Sattar Tahir was a leading Urdu researcher, translator, editor, journalist and author of more than two and a half hundred books. Write about a hundred of these books for children. Sattar Tahir was born on May 1, 1940 in Gordaspur district. The family moved to Lyallpur and studied there till BA. Started journalism in 1959. He also wrote under various pen names such as Ibn Fateh, Sat and Abu Adeel. Perform editorial duties in Monthly Book, Monthly Information, Women's Digest, Weekly Mumtaz, Planet Digest, Hikayat, Urdu Digest, Sputnik, Caravan and National Digest. Wrote on every subject like politics, literature, fine arts, sociology, film. Sattar Tahir was a firm believer in democracy. What he wrote during Zia-ul-Haq's martial law era dared very few people. He also had to go to jail. As the editor of the 15-day "Caravan", he wrote several memorable articles against the execution of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto. Which were published in the form of special issues of the caravan. They were later published in book form. Notable among them are the living Bhutto, the dead Bhutto, the sun, the nightingale, and the white paper on martial law. Sattar Tahir was posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Excellence by the President of Pakistan and the Democracy Award by the PPP Government. The International Islamic University awarded the award in recognition of its contribution to children's literature. He also wrote stories for several films, including "Promise Chain", "Man and Donkey" and "My Name is Love". This labor of Sattar Tahir's pen continued till the day of Eid-ul-Fitr in 1993. When he breathed his last, it was March 25th. The late President of Pakistan awarded the Presidential Medal of Excellence and the PPP government awarded the Democracy Award.
